EXPERIENCE
Charles C. "Charlie" Bailey joined the Barnes Law Group as an associate in September 2010. A native of Harris County, Georgia, he attended the University of Georgia, becoming the fourth generation in his family to do so. He graduated with Honors, earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in Religion and Political Science.
Mr. Bailey earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law. While in school, he was inducted into the National Order of the Barristers and was named a Pupil in the Joseph Henry Lumpkin Inn of Court. He was a member of the Mock Trial Team, competing in the Tournament of Champions in New York City. Mr. Bailey also won both the First Year J. Ralph Beard Closing Argument Competition and UGA Law’s J. Melvin England Mock Trial Competition. He served as Student Bar Association President in his final year at UGA Law.
During his third year in law school, Mr. Bailey worked for the District Attorney of the Western Judicial Circuit, Mr. Kenneth Mauldin. He gained experience in investigating and prosecuting crimes by, among other things, presenting indictments and arguing in Superior Court on evidentiary and bond motions. In addition, he spent two summers as a law clerk with Barnes Law Group, working on medical malpractice, personal injury, consumer fraud, governmental immunity, general civil practice, and business litigation issues.
Mr. Bailey worked as Political Coordinator for Lt. Governor Mark Taylor’s campaign for Governor in 2006 and managed James Marlow’s 10th Congressional race in 2007 before beginning law school.
Mr. Bailey is admitted to practice in all Georgia state trial and appellate courts and resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
